Ms. Katie Z. Leavy is the Owner and Principal of Capital Design LLC, an interior design firm based in Annapolis, Maryland. Ms. Leavy strives to create customized and flexible spaces which provide enhanced joy, functionality and lasting value to her clients.

Ms. Leavy is a long-time advocate of the environment and deeply considers the ecological and social impacts of her work. She strives to provide her clients with design solutions that are good for people and the planet, and prioritizes renewable materials, sustainable manufacturing and ethical product sourcing in all of her projects.

The work of Capital Design LLC has been seen in publications including: Metropolitan Home, Design Times, Home & Design, Hospitality Design, and the Washington Post. Additionally Ms. Leavy has written a weekly design column for the Washington Post Express and has appeared on HGTV’s Designers Challenge show.

Ms. Leavy’s education began at Boston College and continued at the Rhode Island School of Design. She holds certification from the National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) since 2004 and has earned sustainable design competance through ongoing education and daily practice.
